Definition:
A Controller (Comptroller) is the chief accountant of a firm who oversees all accounting activities and financial reporting for a company (sometimes synonymous with Chief Financial Officer). The controller provides and interprets financial information directly to board members and the CEO, ensuring a company's timely response to accounting data.
