Definition:
An individual involved in activities and tasks required to run a mutual fund, hedge fund or other type of investment that pools assets. Examples of fund administration tasks include asset management, preparation of financial statements, daily/monthly reconciliation, calculation and distribution of dividends/payments, and calculation of Net Asset Value (NAV). Fund administration can be handled within a fund or be outsourced to an external individual/firm.
